Creating a Sense of Calm in Your Life

After introducing our new meditation program to you last week, I felt it important to stay on the theme of stress relief. SO many conversations I’ve had with family caregivers center around the amount of stress they are under and how it’s difficult to just ‘let it go.’

Life for anyone can be stressful at times, but as a family caregiver that can be multiplied for so many reasons and on so many levels. I will continue to encourage you to find ways to give yourself time to BREATHE to maintain your sanity, doing so by whatever means that works for you.

I also know from personal experience as a professional organizer the toll that clutter plays in your life. Raise your hands; how many of you are up in the middle of the night thinking about where you’ve put something, trying to remember appointments, etc.? Whatever it may be, clutter, whether it is physical or mental, takes its toll.

This article; 5 Elements for a Peaceful Home has some terrific tips on getting organized. There are some different link-throughs to various articles that you may find helpful as well. Think of it as a magazine that you go back to now and again to see different things that stand out to you.

The thing that stood out for me was “Follow the 30-second rule”. It is SO easy to get distracted by your loved one or life in general that we pile up the ‘I’ll take care of it later’ things, and you end up at the end of a week with chaos. I admit, I tend to put things off now and again, and every time I do I regret it. From the article; “……if a job takes around 30 seconds or less to do, do it immediately.” Try it….it works!!!!

“It always seems impossible until it’s done.” ~ Nelson Mandela

Be well.

Hugs,

Cyndi
