Affirmations for Change

Have you ever had days where everything runs exactly as planned? Or others that felt  intertwined with imbalances and made you want to scream?!? Life is full of ups and downs; it is how we respond to ourselves and others that becomes important.

Perhaps it’s something going on at home that has your stomach in a knot, yet you find yourself getting upset with someone else who doesn’t deserve the verbal hack you just spilled out. The power of the pause is essential here.

Are you putting yourself first in your life? I don’t mean ignoring other people’s needs, but giving yourself permission to say “no” or do something at a later time so that you are giving yourself respect and love, too.

What we often forget is that making sure that we’ve taken care of ourselves, in turn, creates a ripple of balance, and the thoughtfulness and care you want to give is better received by those around you.

Don’t ignore thoughts and feelings that come up in your life. Could you pay attention to them? By creating awareness of our emotions, being able to ‘see’ them instead of shuffling them away, you allow yourself the opportunity of experiencing a balanced life instead of one that feels like a chore every day.

Journaling can be an effective tool to give yourself an opportunity for introspection. Is it the fact that your husband isn’t taking care of the laundry that makes you angry? Or perhaps, upon reflection, there is something in your life that you are feeling powerless over. If you can control that, you’ve mastered everything! Sigh. No.

Your feelings come up for a reason, so burying them may seem like what you need to do (“I’ll deal with it later.” Sound familiar?), but by doing so, you are creating a path for eruption later. Give yourself time. Allow yourself the downtime to reflect on what you are feeling and what is happening in your life. Pick up that journal and let yourself uncover what may be going on inside of you. Doing so may unearth something that has been needing light, and by addressing it, a solution may be possible. LISTEN to what your heart says – it knows a lot.

In addition to journaling, affirmations can give us “permission” to listen to those inner radars and are a great way to start the day:

  • I am worthy.

  • I respect myself.

  • I trust my instincts.

Making awareness part of your daily life can open up transformation. A bit of balance. And a happier you. And please, don’t forget to B-R-E-A-T-H-E.

Hugs,

Cyndi
