What does it mean to be fully supported? To be held even? More importantly, what does it feel like? Whether it’s work, or parenting, or caregiving, so often we take on roles in life aimed at supporting and holding others. Yet within this very natural human desire to do the best we can and care for those we love, it can be common to lose ourselves in the process. The fact is, we have to be able to fully connect with ourselves in a loving and compassionate way before we can continue to offer the same to others.

This workshop is intended to be a four-event series.  While you can purchase each event individually, if you purchase all four at once you can save $40.

Welcome
Thank you so much for your interest in Creative Compassion with Catherine Harris. During this workshop, you’ll be participating in art making, compassion meditations, and journaling to learn about different ways to practice mindful self-compassion. Below you’ll find a few notes on supplies to have on hand and setting up your space before the class begins. * Please know that no experience with art making, meditation, or journaling is necessary to participate in this workshop. The aim is simply to create a space to learn about and practice mindful self-compassion and hopefully find a practice that works well for you. A Note on Supplies & Setting Up Your Space: For Art Making This workshop will include time for art making and creativity. Prompts for art making can be adapted to any art supplies you prefer or simply whatever you have on hand. Some ideas for supplies include: • Color Pencils • Oil Pastels • Chalk Pastels • Watercolor Paints • Collage Materials • Sharpie Pens • Digital Media Please have whatever art supplies you would like to use on hand and your work space set up and ready for art making at the start of our workshop. Setting Up Your Space Please allow for plenty of time before your session to set up your space and to join the Zoom link via your computer or smart device. Choose a space that provides you with comfort and support, i.e. quiet, free of distractions (as best as you can), with sufficient lighting and comfortable places to sit and create artwork. Place your computer or smart device within an appropriate range to both see and hear your instructor and so your instructor can see you. Arrive to your space as if you were in any other art or meditation class and enjoy your practice! If you have any questions prior to the event, please email Catherine directly at [email protected].
